Please join Ski Buddies this MLK Holiday weekend, Friday, January 17th to Monday, January 20th in Sun Peaks, BC, Canada. We will be staying in a lovely home that has 6 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms. 5 bedrooms will be at double occupancy (mix of queen beds, king beds, and double/bunk combination bed). One bedroom has 2 bunk beds and will hold 4 guests at a $100 discounted trip cost for those interested in saving a bit on the cost.
Located in British Columbia, Sun Peaks is the 2nd largest ski mountain in Canada and is just around a 5 hour drive (depending on traffic and border crossing) from the greater Seattle area. It has been several decades since Ski Buddies has visited this mountain and it has grown substantially since that time. Sun Peaks offers both downhill and cross-country skiing and has a bit drier snow than that at Whistler. With 4,270 skiable acres, 7 high-speed lifts, nearly 3,000 feet of vertical, 139 trails, 2 bowls, 19 gladded runs and a 5 mile "longest run", this is a place not to be missed. Even better, Sun Peaks is on both the IKON pass and Mountain Collective Pass. No pass, no problem, as daily lift tickets are about $125USD/day (and possibly less, if purchased online in advance).
The home is about a 15 minute walk from the main lift and is ski-in at the end of the day. The home has a private 8-person hot tub and plenty of free parking. The home is also about a 15 minute walk from a vibrant village with tons of shops, bars and restaurants which are all located at the base of the main lift.
This trip will be a BYOB (alcohol) as crossing the Canada border with alcohol is extremely restrictive, expensive and generally not allowed in bulk. Guests are encouraged to shop for their favorite beer, wine or spirit at the duty free shop at the Canada border.
The trip will include a Saturday evening dinner, 3 breakfasts and plenty of snacks throughout the weekend!
