We will be returning to Winter Pride at Whistler again this year. The well run morning ski groups always make this one of the best events of the year for meeting people and exploring new terrain, and you can't beat Whistler when it comes to the size and variety of it's lift served piste and side-country terrain.
This year's trip will be a modified half-week trip. We'll arrive on Tuesday evening and stay through Sunday. We'll be staying in the North end of Whistler Village, just past the grocery/liquor complex in the Montbello development. It's within walking distance of the lifts and village amenities (10-15 minutes) and it's served by the free Whistler shuttle bus.
The townhouse we will be renting features a well appointed kitchen, four baths, beds easily configured for singles or couples, and a private hot tub. Except for couples, private rooms are not available. If the group is amenable to it we can pool resources for a few dinners and perhaps host a small gathering.
If you would prefer not to lug your skis around, it's possible to arrange for overnight storage near the gondolas.
Highlights of Winter Pride include the aforementioned daily guided ski tour groups, a couple of dance parties, and a pool party at the Whistler rec center.
The trip does not include lift tickets because WA residents can get a better deal than the club can simply by taking advantage of the EDGE card. So check that out on the Whistler website.
Cost $360 per person for lodging (5 nights)
I have reserved two townhouses that will accommodate 14 adults comfortably. If there are more people interested I can probably reserve another property very close by. There are still a few openings in that part of the Village.
For reference, a 5 day edge card costs about $360 USD. So total cost for lodging plus 5 days of sking would be about $720 USD.
If you have any questions, please contact trip coordinator Tim Byrne
Also, one of our members has asked if we might add on condo or townhouse for Thurs-Sun (three nights). If anyone is interested in that contact me, and if we have enough people interested in that I'll look into booking something.
